2009-JUN-12: Legislators defy Dems' defiance of our constitutional right to petition
It's good to know we still have some legislators who care about our rights. What's also important here is the subversive nature of what they're doing. It's a sad state of affairs when enforcing our rights amounts to subversion, but that was the state of affairs that prompted the American Revolution. This can be thought of as part of the process of creating a parallel government which is key to any successful revolution.
I'm particularly proud to see my man Dan Itse continuing to lead on this front.

2009-JAN-21: Right to petition before the House Rules Committee
The New Hampshire House Rules Committee decides on procedures to process petitions for redress of grievances. Formerly the House had refused to accept any such petitions, in violation of the Constitution. Dan Itse, Dan Dumaine and others got around this via a rules change. Now the Rules committee decides that petitions shall be heard in summary by the House and then filed but not otherwise acted upon. Later Dan Itse said that this was a step along the road to fully restoring the right to petition.

In mid March 2008 I ran into state rep Dan Itse in a parking lot. He told me on some recent good news concerning the right to petition.
A fellow named Dave Johnson from Londonderry has attempted to petition the state for redress of grievances for a long time. But Legislative Services has refused to draft any citizen petitions, and they won't let a state rep submit anything without going through them first. This effectively denied New Hampshire citizens the right to petition.
After all legislative and legal attempts to fic the problem had failed, Dan Itse and others 'went ballistic' on Legislative Services, insisting they must draft petitions, according to a rule 36-A. They raised a big stink and L.S. has caved.
Credit where it's due: Betty Hall reportedly has supported the right to petition.
